School of Spirituality

The School of Spirituality is an initiative of religious Province of Friars Minor Conventual of Padua.

Is a small reality founded in 2001 by a group of professors of Theological Institute, who wanted to contribute with its experience in a path of Christian spiritual growth. The contribution is proposed as the typical Franciscan charisma, making rediscover the treasures of Christian Tradition.

The School of Spirituality offer courses for an up-to-date consciousness in spiritual theology for religious, priests, and laity, for educators and pastoral operators of kind and wish to be a center of study and of re-interpretation of spiritual patrimony of North-East Italy, developing a memory which could inspire life. Such as this it intends to be inserted creatively in the spiritual tradition of the Franciscan Order in fidelity to the identity of consecrated life which is named after its specific charisma to present how the school of evangelical spirituality is.

The programme of the School is a schedule of study which is effected in three years, the mornings of Saturdays from October to May from 9.00 to 12.30. At the conclusion of three years a diploma is confered by the Theological Faculty of Triveneto and by the Theological Institute of St. Anthony.

The Word of Saints... (only italian)

ANTISSIMO Padre nostro: Creatore, Redentore, Consolatore e Salvatore nostro.
Che sei nei cieli: negli Angeli e nei santi, illuminandoli a conoscere che tu, Signore, sei luce; infiammandoli ad amare, perché tu, Signore, sei amore; inabitando in essi, pienezza della loro gioia, poiché tu, Signore, sei il sommo bene, eterno, dal quale viene ogni bene, senza il quale non vi è alcun bene.
Sia santificato il tuo nome: si faccia più chiara in noi la conoscenza di te, per poter vedere l’ampiezza dei tuoi benefici, l’estensione delle tue promesse, i vertici della tua maestà, le profondità dei tuoi giudizi.
Venga il tuo regno: affinché tu regni in noi per mezzo della grazia e tu ci faccia giungere al tuo regno ove v’è di te una visione senza ombre, un amore perfetto, un’unione felice, un godimento senza fine.
Sia fatta la tua volontà come in cielo così in terra: affinché ti amiamo con tutto il cuore, sempre pensando a te; con tutta l’anima, sempre desiderando te; con tutta la mente, orientando a te tutte le nostre intenzioni e in ogni cosa cercando il tuo onore. E con tutte le nostre forze, spendendo tutte le nostre energie e sensibilità dell’anima e del corpo a servizio del tuo amore e non per altro; e affinché amiamo il nostro prossimo come noi stessi, trascinando tutti con ogni nostro potere al tuo amore, godendo dei beni altrui come dei nostri e compatendoli nei mali e non recando offesa a nessuno.
Dacci il nostro pane quotidiano: il tuo diletto Figlio, il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, dà a noi oggi: a ricordo e a riverente comprensione di quell’amore che ebbe per noi, e di tutto ciò che per noi disse, fece e patì.
E rimetti a noi i nostri debiti: per la tua ineffabile misericordia, in virtù della passione del Figlio tuo e per l’intercessione e i meriti della beatissima Vergine Maria e di tutti i tuoi santi.
Come noi li rimettiamo ai nostri debitori: e quello che noi non sappiamo pienamente perdonare, tu, Signore, fa’ che pienamente perdoniamo, sì che, per amor tuo, si possa veramente amare i nostri nemici e si possa per essi, presso di te, devotamente intercedere, e a nessuno si renda male per male, e si cerchi di giovare a tutti in te.
E non ci indurre in tentazione: nascosta o manifesta, improvvisa o insistente.
E liberaci dal male: passato, presente e futuro. Amen.
